WindSmart System Performance

The performance of WindSmart Systems is proven in the field and validated through 3rd party rigorous test organizations. In UL (Underwriters Laboratories) wind uplift testing, WindSmart Systems achieved some of the highest reported wind uplift capabilities within the roofing industry.

WindSmart has developed standardized processes to achieve high wind uplift capabilities. Each application is reviewed to ensure proper application on each and every customer facility. In doing so, we have a proven, problem-free track record of applying WindSmart systems to hundreds of commercial low slope roofs. WindSmart is committed to be the market leader within this specialized low slope market.

Wood Decks

Wood Decks

On wood decks, the WindSmart WindForce 365 Equalization Vent achieved up to a 210 psf wind uplift rating – without failure. The eventual failure was not the WindSmart System, but failure of the underlying structural members. WindSmart Systems on wood decks are applicable to all applications of re-roof, tear off and new construction.

Metal Decks

Metal Decks

On metal decks, the WindSmart WindForce 365 Equalization Vent achieved up to a 285 psf wind uplift rating – without failure. The eventual failure was not the WindSmart System, but failure of the underlying metal deck. WindSmart Systems on metal decks are applicable to all applications of re-roof, tear off and new construction.

Concrete Decks

Concrete Decks

On structural concrete decks, the WindSmart WindForce 365 Equalization Vent achieved up to a 495 psf wind up-lift rating – without failure. This was the maximum test capabilities of the test facility. WindSmart Systems on structural decks (cast in place or precast) are applicable to all applications of re-roof, tear off and new construction. On new construction projects, WindSmart Systems can also be configured to remove entrapped moisture – assisting with the known industry problem of curing and drying.
